UNICEF hails Iran’s support for children’s rights

Advisor to Iranian Parliament’s speaker on international affairs called for the need to protect children’s rights and commended the supporting role played by UNICEF in crisis stricken countries such as Yemen, Libya, Afghanistan and Myanmar.

In a meeting UNICEF representative in Iran Will Parks, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian pointed out that the presence and activities of terrorist groups in the world endanger children and women, as well as peace in the international community, Mehr News Agency wrote.

He stressed the need to protect the rights of the women and children in Yemen, Libya, Afghanistan and Myanmar.

Parks expressed appreciation for the support the Islamic Republic of Iran has provided to the rights of children, noting, “Cooperation between states and the UNICEF in crisis stricken areas in particular, has a decisive role in the improvement of children’s rights.”
