Managing Director of POGC Mohammad Meshkinfam said 10 platforms are under construction at the Iran Marine Industrial Company (SADRA) yard and one is being built at the yard of the Iran Shipbuilding and Offshore Industries Complex Company (ISOICO), Shana reported.
Installation of the platforms for phases 13, 14, 22, 23 and 24 of the supergiant gas field will be complete by early next Iranian year which starts on March 20, 2019, Meshkinfam said.
Last week, the official said gas recovery from the field will reach three billion cubic feet per day (an equivalent of 84 million cubic meters) per day once the first production chain of the mentioned phases are completed by mid-September.
Iran has so far invested $72 billion on the development of the gas field in the Persian Gulf which is shared with Qatar.
Total costs are expected to cross $87 billion once all phases of the field come on-stream.
Currently, Iran meets 70 percent of its demand for natural gas. The country's natural gas output equals its crude oil production.
