Iranian, Turkmen FMs review bilateral ties

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a meeting with his Turkmen counterpart Raşit Meredow discussed bilateral relations.

Both officials also talked about recent agreements signed by the two countries during President Hassan Rouhani’s trip to Turkmenistan as well as regional issues, IRNA reported.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 23rd Meeting of Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) foreign ministers in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, on Tuesday.

On Monday, the Iranian top diplomat met with Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon.

Both sides discussed bilateral ties as well as regional and international issues.

They also underlined developing cooperation in political, economic, cultural, energy and technology fields.

Iran, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are members of the ECO.
