Iran’s foreign minister is scheduled to leave Tehran for New York tomorrow for a six-day visit to the US in order to attend the UN General Assembly High-Level Meeting on Peacebuilding and Sustaining Peace, Foreign Ministry’s spokesman Bahram Qassemi said.
Mohammad Javad Zarif will be accompanied by his deputies on the trip and will deliver a speech at the US Council on Foreign Relations in New York, the official website of Foreign Ministry reported on Wednesday.
Zarif is to hold meetings with foreign officials and discuss the Iran nuclear deal and the latest regional developments, including the ongoing crises in Syria and Yemen.
Zarif is also expected to hold talks with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, Mehr News Agency reported.
