Iran delegation arrives in Qatar for economic talks

A delegation of 70 Iranian experts and businessmen from the private and public sectors headed by deputy minister of industry, mine and trade arrived in Doha, Qatar on Sunday for a two-day visit.

The head of the delegation, Mohammedreza Fayyaz said that during meetings in Doha, the two sides are to discuss many of the outstanding issues, according to IRNA.

"There are five committees that will hold specialized meetings on issues related to trade, mines, customs, oil, petrochemicals, exports and banking," Fayyaz said.

Close cooperation between Iran and Qatar is taking a new direction and moving towards strengthening ties, he said adding, although trade with Qatar is very small, commercial ties are expected to witness remarkable progress through appropriate planning.

The deputy minister noted that there was 'no serious obstacle' to consolidating bilateral relations and that they "expect to reach desired results through planned programs".
