Russian musician: Tchaikovsky Conservatory ready to train Iranians

Rector of Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory Alexander Sokolov voiced his readiness to send Russian musicians to Iran for training Iranian artists.

In a meeting with Roudaki Arts and Culture Foundation's Managing Director Ali-Akbar Safipour on Saturday, he referred to programs scheduled by the Iranian foundation during the 2018 Football World Cup in Russia, and called for staging similar performances by Russian troupes in Iran, ISNA wrote.

The two sides also expressed their readiness to expand bilateral cooperation.

Sokolov is in Tehran to visit a number of Iranian cultural centers and meet officials.

Roudaki Arts and Culture Foundation and the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Moscow in March to enhance cooperation.

Based on the MOU signed on the sidelines of the 14th Iran-Russia Joint Economic and Trade Cooperation Commission, the two sides agreed to develop educational collaboration and concentrate on joint productions.

They also agreed to organize workshops in Iran and Russia, and exchange composers and students.

Roudaki Arts and Culture Foundation, as one of the major custodians of music, is in charge of the Tehran Symphony Orchestra and the Iranian National Orchestra.
