Iran petrochem exports exceed $2.2b in two months

Iran exported 3,646,000 tons of petrochemicals worth $2.229 billion in the two months ending May 21, according to a report released by the National Iranian Petrochemical Company on Tuesday, according to IRNA.

Of the total exports in the period, 1,809,000 tons, valued at $1.112 billion, pertained to the Pars Special Economic Energy Zone and 1,080,000 tons, worth $630 million, to the Mahshahr Petrochemical Special Economic Zone. Exports of other petrochemical facilities weighing 756,000 tons fetched $486.65 million.

The total production of petrochemical units reached over 8,710,000 tons in the two-month cycle.

Exports of petrochemicals, weighing 1,670,000 tons, generated $1.68 billion in revenues in the month ending May 21.
