French pianist Clayderman in Iran to hold concert

French pianist Clayderman in Iran to hold concert

Renowned French pianist, Richard Clayderman, who is honored in the Guinness Book of World Records as 'the most successful pianist in the world', is in Iran to hold concert for the first time.

Accompanied by an orchestra, Clayderman will appear at the Ministry of Interior Auditorium in Tehran on June 22-24 and June 27-29, ISNA wrote.

Touching upon holding concert in Iran, he said, "I always compose and play music only for global peace and love and I am proud to perform for hospitable Iranian people."

He added that he will surprise the audiences by performing special programs.

Clayderman will offer the audience a specially arranged version of 'Ey Iran' (O Iran), a popular patriotic song serving as a de facto anthem of the country, Honaronline reported on its Persian website.

Clayderman's distinct piano style has earned him superstar status across continents. He has recorded over 1,200 melodies and by virtue of his efforts has arguably done more to popularize piano around the world than anyone else since Beethoven.

He has created a new romantic style through a repertoire which combines his 'trademark' originals with classics and pop standards, according to the artist's website,

However, the Prince of Romance is not simply a recording artist; his live concerts are equally perfect.

"I love performing live on stage," Clayderman said, "because I have direct contact with my audience. In concerts, with my 10 musicians or a symphony orchestra, I like to mix different tempos, rhythms and styles to evoke all kinds of emotion."
