Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev said in a meeting with Iran's Culture Minister Abbas Salehi that Tehran-Baku relations went beyond diplomatic ties and have now turned into fraternal relations, IRNA wrote.
He recalled that in the last five years he has met Iran's president 12 times.
The two countries, said Aliyev, have a lot of cultural commonalities, so holding cultural weeks will provide fine opportunities to expand bilateral ties.
Salehi, who is heading a delegation of well-known culture and art figures, is in Baku to take part in the 'Days of Culture of the Islamic Republic of Iran' exhibition which will begin on June 27 and continue until July 1.
Iran's Ambassador to Azerbaijan Javad Jahangirzadeh will also be present in the event.
The program will include concerts staged by Iranian artists, exhibitions, screening films and staging theatrical performances.
The 'Days of Culture' exhibition seeks to promote cultural cooperation between the two countries, establish close communication and exchange of experience by artists from the two countries.
