AGMK dived into the game with intense man-to-man marking and even matched their fellow Central Asian rival’s intense pressing in the opening minutes, the-afc.com reported.
While the Uzbek side looked to have the better opportunities in front of the goal, it was Mes Sungun’s Morteza Ezzati who opened the scoring in the fifth minute from a corner set-piece for his second goal of the tournament.
Ezzati was joined on the scoresheet by the 2018 AFC Futsal Championship top scorer Hossein Tayyebi who scored four while veteran Iranian international and three-time Asian futsal player of the year Ali-Asghar Hassanzadeh, Abolqasem Orouji, Saied Taqizadeh and Farhad Fakhim added four more to Mes Sungun’s account.
Akbar Usmonov got the sole goal of the contest for the Uzbek side.
"This was a good game. We knew their team would come with a certain purpose and we tried to control the game, as well as scoring,” Mes Sungun’s head coach Hamid Bigham said after his team’s emphatic victory.
“Our target is to qualify as the group winner. While we respect our opponent (Bank of Beirut), we have some strategy prepared for them," Bigham added.
Mes Sungun will look to keep its unbeaten streak against Lebanon’s Bank of Beirut, while AGMK FC seeks to end the Group D campaign with a win against FC Sipar of Tajikistan on Monday.
