Abbas Salehi pointed to the current situation in which the enemies are trying their utmost to undermine unity and amity among Iranians, he said that maintaining convergence, national unity and amity in the country especially among ethnic group is of paramount importance, reported Mehr News Agency.
As cradle of civilizations, Iran has always been considered as the hub of consolidation, unity and amity among various ethnic groups, he said, adding, Iranian ethnic groups have always safeguarded the territorial integrity of the Islamic Iran.
During his recent trip to Sistan-Baluchestan Province, he said, a joint cultural and artistic memorandum of understanding (MoU) was inked between the Culture Ministry and Sistan-Baluchestan Province's Governor General Office to consider cooperation among provinces that have high artistic and cultural potentials.
A part of Iran's symbol of identity lies in the provinces, thus, short- and long-term programs should be planned in cultural and artistic fields to promote and introduce Iran's rich culture and civilization at the international level, the minister underlined.
Clarifying the capacity of ethnicities, respecting various ethnic groups in the country, emphasizing the role and status of ethnic groups in strengthening cultural diplomacy are among the issues in which the media can play and active and constructive role to promote national convergence and solidarity.
