Iranian lawmakers on Wednesday will impeach the Minister of Cooperatives, Labor, and Social Welfare Ali Rabiei, said the Parliament’s Presiding Board.
A number of lawmakers had earlier urged Parliament to postpone the impeachment session; however, the Parliament’s Presiding Board on Tuesday underlined that the impeachment hearing would be held on Wednesday, Iranian lawmaker, Akbar Ranjbarzadeh said.
In March, Rabiei and the Minister of Roads and Urban Development Abbas Akhoundi survived an impeachment attempt in Parliament.
The reasons for their impeachments were a passenger plane crash, which killed 66 people, and the sinking of an Iranian oil tanker, which belonged the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor, and Social Welfare, which killed 30 Iranians.
