Leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in a Friday meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin reaffirmed Putin’s call for expansion of mutual ties and said Iran-Russia bilateral cooperation regarding Syria is an example of a good experience which creates synergy.
The Leader said this cooperation could expand to international issues, adding one of the issues that the two sides could cooperate is containing the United States, for the US is a threat to humanity.
The US intended to compensate for its failure in Egypt and Tunisia in Syria, but they have failed in Syria as well.
The sanctions slapped by the US on Iran, Syria and Turkey is a common point for expansion of ties, he said, besides expanding the ties, Iran and Russia should seriously follow up the agreements reached in Tehran Summit.
The Leader emphasized on carrying out international transactions free from domination of dollar.
Referring to EU’s failure to live up to their promises, he said Iran has been committed to its commitments within the framework of Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, but the Europeans have not fulfilled their commitment which is not acceptable.
Russian president said in his talks with his Iranian counterpart he has proposed the expansion of economic and commercial ties and establishment of new small nuclear power plants.
The capacities for expansion of mutual ties are more than what they are today, Putin said adding, Americans are making a strategic mistake by creating financial obstacles because in long term it will undermine global confidence in dollar.
Regretting lack of commitment of some of the signatories to the JCPOA, he said the Americans through inappropriate measures have disturbed the situation and the Europeans follow them because they are dependent on the US, although they have announced that they are trying to find some ways for protect the nuclear deal.
