Iranian musicians, actress to contribute to German band's new album

Iranian musicians playing various musical instruments, including tambourine, santur and dutar as well as a female actress will collaborate in the latest album by German electronic music band Schiller, coordinator of the band's performances in Iran said.

Mostafa Kabiri, producer and concert organizer of Schiller music band in Tehran said the head of the German band Christopher von Deylen, is in Iran to record his new album, IRNA wrote.

Musicians Pirooz Arjmand, Pooya Sarayee, Yalda Abbasi and actress Niloofar Parsa are the Iranian artists working with the German band on the album.

Last week, Von Deylen recorded a single track in collaboration with Iranian singer Hojjat Ashrafzadeh with some pieces played by prominent Iranian musicians and also a poem by the Iranian prominent poet, Hafiz recited by a female actress, Kabiri said.

He noted that in his second visit to Iran, Von Deylen visited the Tehran Museum of Music and became familiar with tambourine and flute and decided to use the Iranian instruments in his album.

The head of the German music band also decided to take advantage of two other Iranian musical instruments namely santur and dutar, he said.

On their first trip to Iran, Von Deylen and his band performed in Tehran on December 10-15 and surprised the audience by performing a song called Berlin-Tehran, he said.
