Four terrorists killed by IRGC forces in SE Iran

Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) dismantled a terrorist cell affiliated to foreign countries, killing four terrorists in the southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchestan on Friday.

IRGC’s Quds Base in a statement declared that the ground forces using accurate intelligence data identified the terrorist cell affiliated to the global arrogance that planned to attack Iran’s border posts from the territory of a neighboring country in the morning, the statement on Friday, IRNA reported.

The terrorist team was ambushed and smashed by Iranian forces before they would be able to take any action near a border post in Saravan.

Two terrorists were also injured. The rest of the terrorists flee to Pakistan.

A number of terrorists’ weapons and military equipment were seized by the Iranian forces, the statement read.

The security forces monitor with alertness whatever movement by terrorist outfits and elements, which are hired by foreign intelligence services and seek to endanger the Iranian nation’s security, the statement read.

Such elements would be “dealt with decisively,” it concluded.

The decisive confrontation followed a terror attack during a military parade in the southwestern Iranian city of Ahvaz on September 22, which killed 24 people.

Located in the southeast of Iran, Sistan-Baluchestan borders Pakistan and Afghanistan and has a long coastline by the Sea of Oman.
