Dutch envoy: Netherlands values cultural cooperation with Iran

The Embassy of the Netherlands in Tehran attaches much importance to cultural exchanges with Iran and focuses on the commonalities between the two countries, the ambassador said.

"We see cultural exchanges helpful since they help better understanding among nations," Jacque Werner said on the sidelines of 'Archeology and Art in the Netherlands — Narrated by Drents Museum' in National Museum in Tehran.

The exhibition opened on October 2 and will continue until April 6, IRNA wrote.

It is necessary that in the current critical era the two countries focus on topics that help them deepen relations, the Dutch diplomat said.

Cooperation between the two museums is an example of successful diplomacy between Iran and the Netherlands that can make the visitors aware of their history and civilization, the ambassador said.

Referring to the previous cultural cooperation, Werner said the Netherlands will employ all its capacities to boost cultural ties with Iran.

Director General of Drents Museum Harry Tupan said, "Holding exhibitions in Iran is a valuable experience for us and we hope our exhibition in Iran would be as highly welcomed as that of Iran in the Netherlands."
