Iran-Hungary joint documents, photos exhibition opens in Tehran

An exhibition showcasing Iran-Hungary joint documents and photos opened in the National Library and Archives of Iran (NLAI) in Tehran, IRNA reported Wednesday.

On the sidelines of the exhibition, a meeting was held and attended by some Iranian librarians and the two countries’ cultural officials, including the representatives of the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s library, NLAI and the Library of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences CEO Istvan Monok.

The talks led to an agreement, said NLAI deputy director Fariborz Khosravi.

He added the two sides agreed to help their joint works including invaluable Persian manuscripts be added to the UNESCO’s Memory of the World Register.

Highlighting Iran-Hungary cultural ties, Khosravi called for the Hungarian Academy of Sciences to help enrich the list of Persian manuscripts.

Earlier in late April, the Library of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and the Institute for Political and International Studies (IPIS) of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs signed a memorandum of understating (MoU) to collaborate on the publication of Persian manuscripts.
