President Hassan Rouhani ordered interior and health ministries to provide immediate relief to the victims of recent heavy floods which hit several provinces in northern Iran.
Rouhani urged the Interior Ministry to mobilize all facilities available in the neighboring cities to help the people in the flood-hit areas, the president’s official website reported.
He also ordered the Health Ministry to employ all facilities available in medical centers for the immediate treatment of the victims.
Considering the weather forecast information and the possibility of heavy rainfalls in coming months, Rouhani called on all organizations to take measures to minimize possible damages.
Heavy autumn rains started on Friday night in the northern provinces of Gilan, Mazandaran, Golestan and North Khorasan, killing at least nine people. It also damaged houses, bridges and other facilities.
