“The federation has compiled pedigree-books and undertaken blood sampling on Turkoman, Arab, Dare-Shouri and Caspian breeds of Persian horse as the preliminary steps towards global registration,” Masoud Khalili told IRNA.
“Microchips containing blood samples have been sent to international reference laboratories, and two of four pedigree-books are ready for publication,” he added.
He underlined that the federation sent the blood samples to University of Kentucky, paid for the tests, and is now awaiting the test results.
Persian horses are sometimes traded under the name of other countries and global registration helps prevent forgery.
