Military official: Iran’s missile program not negotiable

Spokesman of the Iranian Armed Forces said that nobody in the country agrees to negotiate Iran’s missile power.

Anybody, enemy or traitor, who talks about negotiating our missile program is ill-informed, Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi said in an interview with IRNA.

Missiles are among the most fundamental tools for the country’s defense power, he said, adding that no Iranian official is on the side of the US’ demand to stop manufacturing missiles.

The country’s enemy is using Iran’s missiles as a pretext for disarming the country, he said, adding that whenever they are afraid of direct fighting they create a scenario for disarmament.

Shekarchi stressed that Iran will not use its missiles unless an aggressor takes any measure against the country.

Elaborating on Iran’s advisory presence in regional countries, Shekarchi underlined that Iran’s presence in Syria is at the request of the Syrian government and Tehran has never violated the sovereignty of Yemen, Syria or Iraq.

Economic war has been the last choice adopted by the enemies against Iran, said the official.

He was referring to recent moves by the US to reimpose sanctions against Iran after the US president pulled the country out of the 2015 nuclear agreement in May.

Referring to the fact that the enemies are taking advantage of the media to reach their goals, he urged officials to take it seriously.
