Iran, Syria agree to further expand trade ties

Senior Iranian and Syrian officials in a meeting in Tehran agreed to boost cooperation, especially in the fields of trade and commerce.

The agreement was reached between Chairman of Tehran Chamber of Commerce Massoud Khansari and Secretary General of the Federation of Syrian Chamber of Commerce Mohammad Hamshou in a meeting in the Iranian capital, Fars News Agency reported.

During the meeting, Khansari reiterated that Iran will continue to stand by Syria and provide full support to that country.

"Iran stood by the people of Syrian during the war against terrorism and it will stand by them during reconstruction," the chairman of Tehran chamber of commerce added.

Hamshou underlined the need to upgrade economic, trade and investment relations between Damascus and Tehran.
