Ambassador: Tehran, Tokyo tourism relations to expand

Iran and Japan will sign an agreement to expand cooperation in the tourism sector, said Iran's ambassador to Japan.

Morteza Rahmani-Movahed was speaking in a meeting with the commissioner of Japan Tourism Agency, Hiroshi Tabata to exchange ideas on cooperation in the tourism sector, cultural interactions as well as the special events and programs to mark the 90th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, IRNA wrote.

Commenting on the tourism agreement, Tabata said, "The conclusion of the contract has been put on the agenda of Japanese Tourism Agency and we will finalize it soon."

Rahmani-Movahed appreciated Japanese Tourism Agency for working on the agreement and voiced Iran's readiness to develop tourism cooperation with Japan.

Tabata said that 'Destination: Iran', a tourism seminar in Tokyo on October 24 is of high significance for boosting bilateral ties.

He exlaborated on some aspects of the event including providing halal foods which were made for Muslim tourists in Japan.
