Iran has enhanced capabilities in the agriculture sector, observed Uganda's minister of agriculture, animal industry and fisheries on Friday.

Uganda seeks further cooperation with Iran in this field, Vincent Bamulangaki Ssempijja added in a meeting with Iran's Ambassador Morteza Mortazavi in Kampala, IRNA reported.

Uganda is rich in water and has fertile soil as well as abundant and cheap labor, he noted, adding Iranians can collaborate with his country in mechanizing the agro sector, modernizing its irrigation systems, establishing animal husbandry centers as well as setting up processing factories, holding courses in packaging training as well as in marketing and exporting farming products.

Mortazavi extended an invitation from Iran's Agriculture Minister Mahmoud Hojjati to Ssempijja to visit Iran to gain more knowledge about Iranian companies' capabilities in modernizing agriculture.
