Actress Motamed-Aria picked for Greek jury

Leading Iranian actress Fatemeh Motamed-Aria was selected to serve on the panel of jury at the 59th Thessaloniki International Film Festival in Greece.

Motamed-Aria is one of the five-member international jury called to judge the films in the international competition section of Thessaloniki event and to award the Golden and Silver Alexanders, ifilmtv.ir reported.

"Motamed-Aria is one of the most distinguished and respected Iranian actresses, who has won more than 80 national and international awards and has appeared in over 70 films, collaborating with masters of Iranian cinema, such as Abbas Kiarostami," the festival's website noted.

The 59th Thessaloniki International Film Festival seeks to discover innovative filmmakers, new sections, engaging tributes and the best films of independent cinema.

The event is underway from November 1-11 in Greece.
