Envoy: Iran's oil exports expected to rise

A large number of international institutes have foreseen a rising trend for Iran's oil exports, said Iran's ambassador to the UK.

In a post published in his Twitter account, Hamid Baeidinejad said on Wednesday that while international energy institutions had earlier estimated Iran's oil exports at below one million barrel a day in the era of new US sanctions targeting the country's energy sector, but with the oil purchase by eight countries, which have received exemptions from the US sanctions, they now estimate Iran's oil exports to hit 1.85 million barrels per day, reported Fars News Agency.

He added that Western institutions have, for the first time, admitted that with the new mechanisms employed by Iran on oil sales, it has become impossible to track the country's oil exports.

According to US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, the sweeping sanctions will see 700 people blacklisted, including people who were granted relief under the 2015 deal, as well as over 300 new names joining the list.
