The fourth National Exhibition of Medicinal Plants, Natural Byproducts and Traditional Medicine was opened in the Iranian capital of Tehran on Monday.
The opening ceremony was attended by Iran’s Agricultural Jihad Minister Mahmoud Hojjati and the country’s Vice President for Science and Technology Sorena Sattari, IRNA wrote.
A number of compiled books and products pertaining to the fields of medicinal herbs and traditional medicine were unveiled in the ceremony.
The biennial exhibition is among Iran’s important events which was first held in 2012. The expo, underway at Tehran's Imam Khomeini Grand Prayer Grounds (Mosalla), will be open to visitors until November 15.
The fair features sections including exhibition of medicinal plants and natural byproducts and a student festival.
Close to 170 Iranian new technology-based companies, 550 creative companies and 110 startups have participated in the expo.
A total of 48 technological plans in the field of medicinal herbs will be unveiled on the sidelines of the exhibition.
More than 5,000 products will be showcased during the expo.
