Iranian steelmakers cast 20.59 million tons of crude steel during the period, showing a rise of 19 percent compared to the figure for the same period in 2017, which was 17.298 million tons.
Based on the report, the second to ninth places went to India, Japan, the US, South Korea, Russia, Germany, Turkey and Brazil with 88.433 million tons, 87.188 million tons, 71.744 million tons, 60.366 million tons, 60.294 million tons, 35.554 million tons, 31.289 million tons and 29.229 million tons respectively.
In October, Iran produced 2.07 million tons of crude steel showing an increase of 10.16 percent from the figure for the same month of 2017, which was 1.872 million tons.
World crude steel production reached 1.5 billion tons for the first 10 months of 2018 — up 5.4 percent compared to the amount for the same duration in 2017, which was 1.398 billion tons.
According to the Islamic Republic's Vision Plan, total steel production capacity is to hit 55 million tons a year by 2025, with an expected exports figure of 10-15 million tons.
