Russia after 30% rise in trade with Iran

Russia is seeking to raise trade with Iran by 30 percent within a three-year period, said the head of the State Duma Committee on Transport and Construction.

"To expand cooperation, we started with making railways," Yevgeny Moskvichev further said, according to Interfax.

He pointed out that Moscow has reached an agreement with Baku to conduct trade with Iran via Azerbaijan. This, he added, will raise Russia-Iran trade by 30 percent from 2019 to 2021.

Azerbaijan, Russia and Iran set up a joint working group on further developing transportation between the countries as well as a system for monitoring, Azertac wrote on Monday.

The issue was the focus of Transport Week-2018 which took place in Moscow to discuss transportation of goods between Russia, Azerbaijan and Iran, the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation said.
