Japan ready to expand cooperation with Iran

Japanese Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs in the House of Representatives Kenji Wakamyia expressed his country’s readiness to expand all-out cooperation with Iran.

Wakamyia made the remarks in a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Japan Morteza Rahmani Movahed on Friday, IRNA reported.

The Japanese official said that parliamentary cooperation in developing ties between Tehran and Tokyo is effective.

Iran and Japan will mark the 90th anniversary of the diplomatic ties between two countries next year.

The Iranian official referred to his meetings with a number of senior Japanese officials, and underscored the role of the two countries’ parliaments on expansion of bilateral ties.

Rahmani-Movahed also extended an invitation to Wakamyia for an official visit to Tehran, which was warmly welcomed by the Japanese side.
