Gholamreza Miri told Mehr News Agency on Saturday that 152.6 tons of saffron valued at $240 million were exported from Khorasan Razavi Province in the eight-month period.
He added this shows a 32.46-percent increase in terms of weight and 46-percent increase in terms of value compared to the figures for the same period last year.
He said that the province accounts for 90 percent of Iran's total saffrom exports.
The price of saffron, which had experienced severe fluctuations, has now stabilized, he noted.
He added that saffron producers were satisfied with this year's yield.
