The Iranian Navy’s 58th flotilla of warships docked in southern port city of Bandar Abbas on Saturday morning after a 53-day voyage.

Commander of Moqaddam Naval Base Rear Admiral Afshin Tashk said that the naval group which is comprised of Bayandor destroyer and Tonb logistics warship has returned to the country after its intelligence-operational mission, IRNA reported.

The flotilla travelled a total of 3,970 nautical miles during its overseas journey, which took it also to Oman’s port city of Salalah.

Tashk said that the continuous presence of Iran’s naval forces in international waters is to safeguard the country’s interests in far seas and to foil the “Iranophobia plots”.

Tashk appreciated the Navy for their efforts to establish stability and security in the Gulf of Eden and the far seas.

Iran’s naval forces have in recent years increased their presence in international waters to protect naval routes and provide security for trade vessels and oil tankers.
