Iran plans to create new petrochemical complex

Iran plans to create a new petrochemical complex in the province of Hormuzgan, adjacent to the Persian Gulf waters.

Behzad Mohammadi, the managing director of the National Petrochemical Company (NPC) said a new petrochemical complex will be built in the Parsian Energy Intensive Industrial Special Economic Zone, reported azernews.az.

He underlined that given the existing technical infrastructure, such as proximity to the airport, the Persian Gulf, the Assalouyeh region and raw materials, Parsian could become a new center of the country's petrochemical industry.

Access to a variety of liquid and gas raw materials is one of the main attractions of the petrochemical industry of Iran for investors.

In recent years, a variety of Iran's petrochemical products has led other branches of the Iranian economy to continue their activities despite the problems caused by the US sanctions.

Notwithstanding the sanctions imposed against the export of Iranian oil, and consistently, the decline in oil exports, they did not affect the export of petrochemical products.
