Death toll in Tehran bus crash rose to ten as investigation by police is underway to determine the cause of the tragic incident.
Seven students, two women and five men, lost their lives on the spot while three others died in hospital.
The incident happened on Tuesday at the Science and Research Branch of Islamic Azad University after the bus overturned on the campus of the university.
A parliament committee tasked with making a report about the bus crash said on Wednesday that following talks with the wounded students, it found that there were technical faults with the bus.
Just a moment before the incident occurs, the driver informs the students of brake failure in the bus, the committee said.
Tehran's Emergency Department dismissed some media reports suggesting that driver had a heart stroke prior to the incident and it is the reason behind the bus crash.
Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani urged the country’s prosecutor general to swiftly deal with the case.
