Iran’s under-19 volleyball team claimed the first place at the FIVB World Ranking.
Collecting 122 points, Iran jumped up two spots in the biennial ranking released Tuesday.
During the two-year period, Iran won the title at the 2017 FIVB Volleyball Boys' U19 World Championship in Bahrain – which earned the Asian side 100pts in the ranking – and settled for a third-place finish at the Asian Boys' U18 Volleyball Championship in Tabriz, Iran, last July.
Japan gathered 110pts to stand second with Russia, South Korea and Egypt finishing third to fifth respectively.
Iran also moved up six places to finish fifth in the men’s under-21 ranking, while in the men’s under-23 category, Iran stood sixth with 70pts.
