Speaking in the meeting, Gharibpour said encouraging private sector participation in creating infrastructure is among the mechanisms for developing railroad transportation for transporting minerals.

He added a workgroup will be set up to take preliminary steps to draw up the MoU, to increase the share of railroad transportation in transiting cargos from Sangan to Bafq, in the central Iranian province of Yazd.

Gharibpour underlined that any investment in building this railroad will be economically viable, adding the workgroup will also explore ways to improve the railroad transportation system and decide on the project's investment methods and implementation.

Addressing the same meeting, Mohammadzadeh expressed IRIR's interest in providing the infrastructure for constructing Sangan-Bafq railroad.
