Speaking to reporters at Tehran’s Mehrabad Airport before his departure on Monday, Larijani said he would visit Japan with the aim of boosting mutual cooperation between Tehran and Tokyo, Tasnim News Agency reported.
He also emphasized that economic relations between the two countries should definitely expand in various fields.
“Iran and Japan have had good cooperation in various sectors, including the economic sphere, and it is very important for us to strengthen and expand ties with Japan,” Larijani stated.
Heading a high-ranking delegation, Larijani left Tehran for Japan on Monday at the official invitation of the speaker of the Japanese parliament.
Iran and Japan have ramped up efforts in recent years to boost bilateral relations in diverse political and economic fields.
