Int'l tourism exhibition kicks off in Tehran

The 12th Tehran International Tourism Exhibition opened at Tehran's International Fairgrounds on Tuesday.

Organized by Iran's Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHHTO), the four-day event is hosting 660 domestic and 57 foreign companies from 12 countries.

Companies from Italy, Turkey, Malaysia, Germany, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, India, Cambodia, Afghanistan and Pakistan are taking part in the exhibition.

Farhad Aminian, an organizer of the event, told a press conference, "The turnout [of companies] is great this year, and all 31 provinces of Iran are represented in the fair."

The organizer pointed out that 2,000 square meters of outdoor space and 42,000 square meters of indoor space have been allocated to this exhibition.

Pavilions have been assigned to airlines, travel agencies, tour operators, hotels, hospitals and other related industries, including banks and insurance companies, publications, free zones, sports and ecotourism facilities, as well as online services.

ICHTTO has drawn up over 100 packages to introduce the less prominent tourism destinations of Iran at the event.
