NPC: Iran's 10-month petchem exports exceeded $9.7b

Iran exported over 17 million tons of petrochemicals valued at more than $9.73 billion during March 20, 2018-January 20, 2019, according to National Petrochemical Company (NPC).

NPC added Iranian petchem companies' output in this period amounted to 44.8 million tons, while their total production in the month from December 22, 2018-January 20, 2019 stood at about 4.3 million tons, IRNA reported.

In the same 30-day period to January 20, Iranian petchem complexes sold more than 1.52 million tons of products valued at over $792 million in foreign markets.

In addition, exports by petrochemical companies reached 1.46 million tons worth over $714 million during November 22-December 21, 2018.

Following the completion of new projects in Iran, the installed production capacity of the petrochemical industry currently stands at 64 million tons per year.

In the year to March 2018, Iran sold petrochemicals worth $17.1 billion in foreign and domestic markets, of which $12 billion pertained to exports and $5 billion to revenues generated from domestic sales.
