Filming of 'Molana', by Iranian producer, begins

The shooting of the film titled 'Molana', based on a joint script by Jean-Claude Carrière and Nahal Tajaddod, began in Paris, France.

The film is being produced by Mehdi Hosseini, IRNA wrote.

Carrière is one of the famous French director who has previously worked with well-known filmmakers such as Jean-Luc Godard, Luis Buñuel, Andrzej Wajda and Miloš Forman.

He was nominated for Oscar three times and once won the prize for Best Short Subject in 1963.

Two filmmakers, one French and one English are directing the film.

The flick is to be filmed in European countries including France as well as Middle East locations such as Turkey to depict the real picture of Rumi's life using the best means available.

Carrière, is an expert on Rumi and the author of 'Love: The Joy That Wounds: The Love Poems of Rumi'.
