Speaking at the closing ceremony of the 34th Fajr Music Festival which started on February 13 and ended on February 19, Abbas Salehi further said Iran's rich history and its vast geographical span have lent a unique characteristic to the country's music.
According to IRNA, music is 'a line of connection' between the country and the world, the minister said.
He pointed out that the Iranian music enjoys deep historical roots, authenticity and variety.
The minister further described Iranian music as a vehicle that can convey kindness and affection to the world.
Music festival is a chance for re-recognition of the Iranian music, he noted.
Salehi added that the festival also connects different generations of Iranian music.
Speaking about holding the program in 15 provinces, he said due to the 40th anniversary of Islamic Revolution, officials decided to recreate and revive the nostalgic songs of the revolution.
Fajr Music Festival is the most prominent music event which has been held in Iran annually for the past 34 years with the participation of numerous national and international musicians and bands.
