"Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) has a significant potential in the field and is ready to release bulletins and reports in various languages in order to introduce Iran's tourism attractions," said Zia Hashemi in a meeting with Musa Khademi, governor general of Iran's western province of Lorestan, IRNA wrote.
Noting the high unemployment rate in neighboring countries, he added the media plays a key role in economic activities and social developments by introducing tourist attractions and capacities.
To this end, IRNA is capable and ready to present special issues and reports on the tourism sector and translate them into other languages, he said.
Referring to other affiliates of IRNA, such as 'Iran' newspaper that dedicates a page to tourism, he said that the daily, which has a high circulation, can play a major role in promoting tourism of Iran, including Lorestan Province.
Currently, ecotourism resorts are operational in cities across the province such as Khorammabad, Boroujerd and Aligoudarz.
Ecotourism, or rural tourism, is not confined to watching nature. It is, in fact, to familiarize the tourists with customs, cuisines and lifestyles of villagers.
