Fajr Int'l Film Festival to review German, Chinese films

The 37th Fajr International Film Festival plans to review a number of cinematic works from Germany and China.

According to IRNA, the festival has not yet named the films that will be screened.

World (other countries) Cinema section, which received kudos from the participants, each year reviews the industry in different countries. The 36th edition of the event focused the films from Georgia and Italy.

The festival's 37th edition, slated for April 18-26, will screen films in nine sections including International Competition, Eastern Vista, Festival of Festivals, Popular Genre Films and Burn Olives which is a window to the changes in the world of Islam today.

International Competition section will host up to 15 feature films that compete and finally three of them will be screened in the festival.

Established in 1982, Fajr International Film Festival celebrates cultural exchange, displays creative achievements of highly acclaimed cineastes and pays tribute to local and international films.

Supervised by Iran's Culture Ministry, the festival hosts veteran filmmakers and new directors from Iran and across the world each year.
