Addressing a ceremony to mark Annunciation, Nabil Qaouk said the racist remarks made by US President Donald Trump is the reason behind killing prayers in New Zealand.
Referring to Trump’s choice to recognize Quds as capital of the Israeli regime, he said now Trump is recognizing Israel sovereignty on Golan Heights.
He urged Lebanon to take firm positions over Golan Heights since it is the first country which will be influenced by this decision, IRNA reported.
Trump tweeted on Thursday that after 52 years it is time for the United States to fully recognize Israel's Sovereignty over the Golan Heights.
Earlier, Syria condemned in the strongest terms irresponsible statements made by the US president on the occupied Syrian Golan, which confirms the United States blind bias to the Zionist occupation entity, stressing that these statements will never change the fact that the Golan was and will always be a Syrian Arab territory.
The US stance towards the occupied Syrian Golan clearly reflects its contempt for international legitimacy and its flagrant violation of international resolutions, especially the UNSC Resolution No. 497 of 1981, which categorically rejects the decision of the Israeli occupation government and its arbitrary measures regarding the Golan and considers it null and void and has no legal effect, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) quoted an official source at Foreign and Expatriates Ministry as saying in a statement.
Meanwhile earlier, the spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Bahram Qasemi said that the impetuous personal decisions of US President Donald Trump is pushing the sensitive region of the Middle East toward consecutive crises.
He condemned occupying of lands in any form and added, 'The interventionist decision of the US president never changes the fact that the Golan Heights belong to Syria, rather it clearly shows the failure of compromising policies while proving the correctness of the path of resistance against the expansionist and aggressive conduct of the US and the Zionist regime.'
