“Met with 🇮🇷 #RedCrescent today to learn about their efforts to help the victims of #flooding. Big thanks to them and their volunteers for all the good work!,” Lars Nordrum tweeted on Sunday.
During the meeting, Nordrum said he is looking forward to issuing humanitarian aids from Norwegian humanitarian societies.
He also presented reports on the meeting held with national and international officials in Iran, IRNA reported.
Meanwhile, Head of Shemiranat Red Crescent Society Hassan Farahani appreciated Norwegian government and people for paying attention to recent floods in Iran.
Referring to sanctions which made difficult process of sending international aids to Iranian Red Crescent Society, he said sanctions have increased pressure on people and especially those who were damaged in incidents.
Unprecedented heavy rains caused floods in various parts of Iran over the past two weeks. Scores of people were killed and injured and a large number were displaced across Iran.
On the beginning days of the floods, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei called on all Iranian Armed Forces to step in for consolidating relief operations.
