Yemeni FM urges UN to let ships carrying food dock in ports

Yemeni foreign minister said that the United Nations has stopped giving permission to the ships for entering Yemen's ports.

Hisham-Sharaf, foreign minister of Yemeni government called on the UN to give permissions for the ships carrying food consignments to dock in Yemeni ports, according to al-Mayadeen, IRNA reported.

Describing the Arab League role as negative role in Yemen war and blockade, he also condemned the final statement of the summit on Sunday, and said that such statement indicates the body is ignoring the realities, including pains and suffering of Yemeni people.

The Arab League in the statement denounced self-defense of Yemeni forces in face of the Saudi Arabia attacks instead of condemning the raids by Riyadh and Abu Dhabi against the Yemeni civilians.

Since 2015 that the war was waged by Saudi Arabia and its allies thousands of civilians, including hundreds of children, were killed or maimed in air raids on non-military targets or by the cluster munition remnants.

UN once put Saudi Arabia on the blacklist of child killers, but it retreated from the measure as a result of pressures by Riyadh.

The poor Arab country has also been under all-out blockade for the past four years. Humanitarian groups and organizations have repeatedly warned on widespread acute malnutrition among Yemeni children and dire humanitarian situation in the country.
