Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Seyyed Abbas Araqchi and his Kazakh counterpart Mukhtar Tileuberdi exchanged views on bilateral ties.
Issues related to the Caspian Sea and the latest developments in Afghanistan and Syria were also discussed in the meeting, according to IRNA.
The Kazakh official expressed his country’s support for the Iran nuclear deal and underscored the Central Asian state’s interest in expanding bilateral economic cooperation.
Referring to the transit capacities of Iran, Tileuberdi called for accelerating the expansion of commercial and economic ties between the two countries.
The Iranian official also voiced Tehran’s willingness to expand relations with Kazakhstan in all fields.
During the talks, the two sides expressed their readiness to hold a new round of Iran-Kazakhstan Joint Economic Commission.
Following the meeting, the Kazakh official held talks with Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif who said relations with Kazakhstan are of great importance to Iran.
