Iran’s Foreign Ministry’s spokesman Bahram Qassemi strongly condemned a suicide terrorist attack in the neighboring Pakistan on Friday which killed at least 20 people and wounding nearly 50 others.
Qassemi said that security and stability of neighbors, especially Pakistan, is of great importance to Iran, expressing hope that the Pakistani government and people would foil the conspiracy of the region’s enemies by maintaining unity and vigilance, according to the Foreign Ministry’s official website.
The powerful suicide blast ripped through a crowded fruit market in the Pakistan's Quetta city in the southwestern Balochistan Province.
The terrorist attack apparently targeted the Shia Hazara ethnic minority.
A faction of the Pakistani Taliban claimed the attack.
