Polish official: Cultural programs deepen Iran-Poland ties

Movies and other cultural programs help deepen cultural ties between Iran and Poland, said Poland’s Chargé d’Affaires in Tehran Wojciech Unolt.

He said the tourism industry is another way to help strengthen bilateral relations in a host of fields, adding that Iran should promote its tourism industry and allow in more tourists, wrote.

Unolt, who paid a visit to the 37th Fajr International Film Festival (FIff) said that although the Iranian filmmaker and Oscar-winner, Asghar Farhadi, depicts certain problems in the Iranian society, these issues are in fact universal.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Poland’s chargé d'affaires said Iran’s cinema is now more into comedy. However, as many Europeans know Farhadi, they follow his movies including ‘About Eli’, ‘A Separation’, and ‘The Salesman’.

Presided over by award-winning writer and director Reza Mirkarimi, the 37th FIff is underway in Tehran until April 26.
