Shahrdari Varamin of Iran managed to power past Vietnam’s TP.HCM 3-0 in the 2019 Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship on Sunday, to notch up its fourth consecutive victory in the tournament.
The Iranian side won the first two sets 25-22 and 25-20 and ended the third set in its favor 25-20, Tasnim News Agency reported.
Shahrdari Varamin swept past Sri Lanka Ports Authority in straight sets (25-17, 25-21, 25-21) in its previous match in Pool B at the National Taipei University of Education Gymnasium on Saturday. It had defeated Galkan of Turkmenistan 3-1 on Friday in its second Pool B match.
The Iranian side claimed a win in its first match in the tourney on Thursday, defeating Polri Samator of Indonesia 3-1.
Shahrdari Varamin takes on Japan’s Panasonic Panthers today.
The 10th edition of the Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship has been organized by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) with Chinese Taipei Volleyball Association (CTVA).
Being held in Taipei, Chinese Taipei, the tournament kicked off on April 18 and will end on April 26.
The winner of this tournament will qualify for the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship.
