27th Int’l Qur’an Exhibition underway

The 27th International Qur’an Exhibition opened at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Grand Prayers Ground (Mosalla) on Saturday evening during a special ceremony attended by Culture Minister Abbas Salehi and a number of cultural figures.

Considered the world’s biggest Qur’anic event, the expo has numerous sections and each one is dedicated to a certain activity related to the Qur’an.

The international art section of the event is where artists from around the world showcase valuable artworks inspired by the Holy Book of Islam.

Showcasing over one hundred works from professional contemporary Iranian artists, a new gallery dedicated to the works of renowned Iranian artists welcomes visitors in the 27th International Qur’an Exhibition. The paintings, photographs and sculptures on display carry mystical and Qur’anic messages.

Eight countries are participating at this exhibition. Pakistan is this year’s guest of honor.

The 27th edition of the event will be officially open to the public on Sunday and will last 14 days, wrapping up on May 26.
